General View of Green Carpet

Bologna is a multi-cultural and historical urban environment where all the contrasts like day and night, poor and rich, aristocracy and bourgeoisie meet in the streets of the city. Spider web is used as an analogy for its visual and verbal references as there’s a web of interconnected layers of events in Bologna and their scale changes from the centre to the periphery. What is missing in this magnificent pattern is “green”.

Event studies reveals the urban generators or architectural systems that are actually catalysts for every kind of function, independent of the form they may take in the triad of space, event, movement.

Event Triggers

This project proposes a creative master plan for the future city by turning the events based on pure consumption into a production based architectural program, This master plan provides a new infrastructure which supports the proposed exhibition spaces in and around the city in every possible scale. The creative master plan aims to see a city in the future, where production of art, architecture and green continuously grow together.

Site is located at near to the Fiera district composed of buildings designed by Leonardo Benevolo, Kenzo Tange and Le Corbusier. The new infrastructure growing with art, architecture and green generates from housing areas, agricultural lands, old town and Masters’ junction and to meet on the given site to give form to the architectural center. All these green bands overlap to accommodate architectural and natural culture.

Section Perspective
