<p>Paris sokaklarının en karakteristik özelliklerinden biri olan Paris Metro Girişleri, 19. yüzyılın sonlarında ortaya çıkan <strong>Art Nouveau</strong> akımının en önemli temsilcilerinden biri. Fransız mimar Hector Guimard tarafından Paris’in 141 farklı noktası için tasarlanan metro girişleri şehrin en önemli mimari eserleri arasında gösteriliyor.</p>
<p>Guimard’ın tasarımları, Fransa’nın 1800’lü yılların sonunda yaşadığı <strong>Belle Époque</strong> devrinin bir parçası. Güzel Çağ olarak da adlandırılan Belle Époque, 1871 yılında Fransa-Prusya Savaşı’nın bitişinden 1914’te I. Dünya Savaşı’nın başlangıcına kadar süren bolluk ve refah dönemi olarak tanımlanabilir. Bu bağlamda bu devir, Osmanlı Devleti’nin Lale Devri ile benzerlik göstermektedir ve Fransa’daki pek çok sanatçı eserlerini özgürce üretebilmişlerdir.</p>

<p>Paris şehir yapısı 1850 yılından itibaren köklü değişiklikler yaşasa da, şehirde bir metro inşaatına başlanması 20. yüzyılın başına kadar ertelendi. 1900’de gerçekleşen <em>Exposition Universelle</em> fuarında şehrin modern bir metro hattına ihtiyaç duyduğuna kanaat getirildi. Dönemin mimarlar topluluğu <em>Société Centrale des Architectes</em>, inşa edilecek metronun girişlerinin tasarlanması için bir yarışma düzenledi. Yarışmayı <em>Duray, Lamaresquier, and Paumier</em> isimli bir mimarlık firması kazansa da, dönemin belediye yetkilisi Adrien Benard bu kararı yok saydı ve metro girişlerini tasarlaması için yarışmaya dahi katılmamış olan Hector Guimard’ı görevlendirdi.</p>

<p>Hector Guimard’ın kendine özel bir tarzı vardı. Özellikle Fransız mimar Eugene Viollet-le-duc’un strüktürel rasyonelliğinden, Gotik mimariden ve <a href="https://www.arkitektuel.com/bir-mimari-baskaldiri-artscrafts/">Arts and Crafts</a> hareketinden oldukça etkilenen Guimard, Art Nouveau’yu esinlendiği bu mimar ve akımlardan parçalar ekleyerek yeniden yorumladı. Art Nouveau rasyonalizmi adını verdiği bu tarzı ile dönemindeki diğer mimarların arasından sıyrıldı ve Adrien Bernard’ın onayını aldı.</p>

<p>Yarışmanın kazananı olan mimarların önerdiği gibi yığma yapılar yerine Guimard dökme çelik ve camdan oluşan girişler tasarladı. Guimard’ın bu kararının beraberinde getirdiği pek çok kolaylık vardı: demir girişlerin taş yapılara göre çok daha az yer kaplaması, daha kolay inşa edilebilir olması ve demirin çok daha ucuz ve kolay taşınabilir bir malzeme olması.</p>

<p>Tüm bu sebeplere ek olarak, demir Art Noueveau’nun kıvrımlı ve dinamik yapısını aktarabilmek için taşa göre çok daha uygun bir malzeme olarak görüldü. Guimard, belli modüler strüktürel elemanlar çerçevesinde değişen beş farklı giriş modeli tasarladı. Bu birimlerin bazıları çok basit bir tabela gibiyken bazıları bir pavyon niteliğindedir. Guimard’ın seçtiği yeşil rengi ve her bir girişte yazan Métropolitain yazısı ve fontu her bir girişte ortak olarak kullanılmış.</p>

<p>Her ne kadar Paris Metro Girişleri günümüzde Paris’in en önemli simgelerinden biri olarak gösterilse de, ilk inşa edildiği yıllarda Guimard’ın işleri oldukça ağır eleştirildi. Girişlerin Fransız olmadığı ve yeşil tercihi ile Alman kültürünü temsil ettiği söylendi.</p>

<p>Orijinal olarak 141 tane yapılan Paris Metro Girişleri’nden günümüze yalnızca 86 tanesi kalabildi. Kalan istasyonlar pek çok sanatçıyı etkileyerek Metro stili adı verilen tarzın öncüsü oldu ve çok kısa bir süre popüler olan Art Nouveau’nun en önemli örneklerinden biri haline geldi. Montreal, Şikago, Lizbon, Moskova gibi dünya şehirlerinde Guimard’ın tarzını örnek alan metro girişleri bulunmaktadır.</p>

<p>1889 yılında düzenlenen Exposition Universelle için geçici olarak inşa edilen Eyfel Kulesi, günümüzde dünyanın en çok bilinen yapılarından bir tanesi. Fransız bir inşaat mühendisi ve mimar olan Alexandre Gustave Eiffel tarafından tasarlanan ikonik yapı, Fransa’nın sembolü ve insanoğlunun en önemli eserlerinden bir tanesidir. Eyfel Kulesi, Paris’in Champ de Mars bölgesinde bulunmaktadır.</p>
<p>Exposition Universelle, Fransız İhtilali’nin (1789) 100. yıldönümünü kutlamak amacıyla düzenlenen bir uluslararası fuar. Eyfel Kulesi, bu fuarın giriş kapısı olarak inşa edilmiştir. İnşaatı 2 yıl süren kulenin yapımında toplam 300’e yakın işçi çalışmıştır. Eyfel Kulesi, günümüzde yılda yaklaşık 6 milyon kişi tarafından ziyaret edilmektedir.</p>

<p><b>Tarihi</b></p>
<p>Gustave Eiffel, demir işçiliği alanında uzmanlaşmış bir mühendisti. Eiffel’in kendi adını taşıyan firması, Özgürlük Anıtı’nın da iskelet sistemi dahil olmak üzere dünya çapında ve Fransa’da pek çok büyük çaplı iş yapmıştı. Eiffel, 1867 ve 1878 yıllarında gerçekleştirilen fuarlarda da görkemli pavyonlar inşa etmiş, bu alanda deneyimli bir mühendistir. Ayrıca Gustave Eiffel, dünyanın en uzun köprüsü olarak bilinen Garabit Viyadüğü’nü de tasarlamıştır. Eiffel’in dövme demir kullanarak tasarladığı bu mega yapılar, Eyfel Kulesi’nin tasarımı öncesinden önemli deneyimlerdir.</p>

<p>Her ne kadar Eyfel Kulesi Gustave Eiffel’in adını taşısa da, yapının tasarımı ilk olarak Eiffel’in üç çalışanı tarafından gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ofis müdürü Emile Nouguier, inşaat mühendisi Maurice Koechlin ve mimar Stephen Sauvestre kulenin ilk çizimlerini ve statik hesaplamalarını yapmışlardır. Özellikle Stephen Sauvestre, mimari fikirleri ile yapının şekilsiz bir çelik direk olmaktan çıkıp estetik olarak benzersiz bir yapıya dönüşmesini sağlamıştır.</p>

<p>1884 yılında, Nouguier, Koechlin ve Sauvestre tarafından Eiffel’e sunulan ilk tasarım Eiffel’i tatmin etmemiştir. Bunun üzerine Eiffel, Noguier ve Koechlin’i projeden uzaklaştırarak Sauvestre ile çalışarak projeye son halini vermişlerdir. Eiffel ve Sauvestre’nin tasarımı 107 proje içinde ilk üçe girmiştir. Seçilen diğer projelerin tasarımcıları, fuar için inşa edilecek diğer büyük yapıların inşaatları için görevlendirilirken, Eiffel ve Sauvestre kulenin yapımı için seçilmişlerdir.</p>

<p><strong>Mimarisi</strong></p>
<p>Eyfel Kulesi, kare bir alan üzerine basan dört demir kafes ayak üzerinde yükselmektedir. 54 derecelik bir açıya sahip olan bu ayaklar, kulenin bir noktasında birleşmekte ve kule, bu noktadan sonra tek bir demir kafes olarak yükselmektedir. Kulenin şeklini belirleyen en önemli faktör, yukarılara çıkıldıkça artan rüzgar kuvveti. Demir elemanları birbirine bağlamak için kullanılan kenet millerinin yerleri ve büyüklükleri bile rüzgar göz önünde bulundurularak belirlenmiş.</p>

<p>Eyfel Kulesi, 57, 115 ve 276 metre yükseklikte bulunan üç adet kamuya açık platforma sahip. Üzerindeki radyo anteninin de yüksekliği ile toplam 324,8 metre yüksekliğindeki kule, bir kenarı 124,9 metre uzunluğundaki kare bir alana oturmaktadır. Yapının konstrüksiyonunda toplam 7,300 ton ağırlığa sahip 18,038 adet demir parça kullanılmıştır. Bu demir parçalar Eiffel’in Levallois-Perret’de bulunan fabrikasından getirilmiş ve buharlı vinçler kullanılarak kuleye çıkarılmıştır.</p>

<p>324 metrelik Eyfel Kulesi, pek çok eleştiriyi de beraberinde getirmiştir. Gustave Eiffel, kulenin dövme demir iskeletini saklama ihtiyacı duymamıştır, çünkü böylesine bir yapının ayakta tutan sistemin gözükmesi çok önemlidir. Böylece Eiffel, mühendisliği mimarinin önünde tutmuştur, kulenin yapımında estetik kaygılar arka plana atılmıştır. Bu nedenle Eyfel Kulesi Paris’in sanatçı kesimi tarafından “iğrenç ve gereksiz” olarak tanımlanmıştır. Çoğu sanatçı yapıyı dev bir fabrika bacasına benzetmiştir. Kulenin mimarisini eleştirenler arasında Charles Garnier, Alexandre Dumas ve Guy de Maupassant gibi dönemin önemli isimleri bulunmaktadır.</p>

<p>Eyfel Kulesi, eleştirilere rağmen 1889 yılının Mart ayında tamamlandı. Kule, tamamlandıktan iki ay sonra kullanıma açıldı. Kulenin doğu, batı ve kuzey kanatlarında saatte 5,000 kişiyi taşıyabilecek kapasitede asansör ve merdivenler bulunur. Yapının birinci ve ikinci platformlarına çıkan asansörler, üçüncü platforma kadar devam etmez. Bu platforma geçebilmek için farklı bir asansör vardır. Kulenin birinci ve ikinci platformlarında farklı uluslararası temalara sahip dört restoran bulunur.</p>
<p>Kule, inşa edildiğinde dönemin en yüksek binası olan Washington Anıtı’nı geçerek dünyanın en yüksek binası olmuştur ve New York’ta bulunan Chrysler Binası inşa edilene kadar, 40 yıl boyunca bu ünvanını korumuştur. Eyfel Kulesi, her ne kadar yapıldıktan 20 yıl sonra yıkılmak üzere inşa edilmiş olsa da, yapının Paris’e, fizik ve meteoroloji bilimlerine kattığı değer ve radyo sinyallerinin dağıtımında oynadığı rol sebebiyle günümüze kadar ayakta durmayı başarmıştır.</p>
