<p>2019 yılında Prtizker Ödülü Japon mimar, şehir planlamacısı ve kuramcı Arata Isozaki’ye verildi. Isozaki, 1954 yılında Tokyo Üniversitesi’nden (University of Tokyo) mezun olmuş ve okuldan sonraki kariyerine 1987 yılında Priztker’e layık görülmüş olan Kenzo Tange’nin yanında başlamış. Daha sonra mimar 1963 yılında kendi ekibini kurmuş: Arata Isozaki &amp; Associates. Japonya, II. Dünya Savaşı’nın sonunda yenik düştükten sonra İtilaf Devletleri’nin işgaline uğramıştı. İşgalden sonra hakimiyetini ve gücünü tekrar kazanan Japonya savaşın da getirdiği politik, ekonomik ve kültürel belirsizlik nedeniyle fiziksel olarak yeniden yapım aşamasına girdi. Tam da bu yıllarda kariyerini şekillendirmiş olan Isozaki: “Bu gibi problemlere en uygun çözümleri bulabilmek için tek bir stil üzerine yoğunlaşamayız. Değişim, sürekli hale geldi. Çelişkili bir biçimde bu benim kendi stilimi tanımlıyor.” diyerek adını duyuran bir mimar oldu. Isozaki, zamanının ötesinde düşünme yeteneğiyle mimarisinde batı ve doğu arasında bir diyalog kurmayı başaran uluslararası bir figür oldu -özellikle ilk yurtdışı işi olan MOCA ile. Bu makalede Arata Isozaki’nin kariyerini tanımlamış 12 projesini inceleyeceğiz.</p>

<p>Isozaki’nin savaş sonrasında yeniden yapımla başlayan kariyerinin ilk projesi mimarın geldiği yer olan Oita, Kyushu Adası’ndaki kütüphane. Adı sonradan Oita Sanat Meydanı (Oita Art Plaza) olarak değiştirilen yapı, Arata Isozaki’nin <em>‘büyüyen mimarlık’ (growing architecture)</em> olarak adlandırdığı çok daha büyük bir planlamanın bir parçası. Bir şehir planlamacısı olarak Isozaki bu teoreminde, şehir planlamanın asla durgun olmaması; aksine büyümeye ve evrilmeye yönelik tasarlanması gerektiğini savunuyor. Bu yapısını da böyle bir kentin parçası olarak tasarlayan mimar, yapının düzenini insan vücudu örneklemesinden esinlenerek oluşturmuş. Kütüphane aydınlık/karanlık ortamlara pencereler ve tavan pencereleriyle yollar yaratan, tamamı brüt beton bir yapı.</p>

<p>Kitakyushu Merkez Kütüphanesi, <em>Étienne-Louis Boullée</em>’nin (fikirleri günümüz mimarisinde hala etkili olan Fransız neoklasik mimar, 1728-1799) 1785 yılında French National Library (Fransız Ulusal Kütüphanesi) için yaptığı öneriden esinlenilerek tasarlanmış. Izosaki’nin tasarımı <em>Boullée</em>’nin neoklasik tarzda, tonozlu tavana sahip önerisinin prekast betonla modern bir yorumu. Yapı iki geniş, birbirine paralel beşik tonozdan oluşuyor. Bu iki beşik tonoz uzanarak farklı kıvırmlar yaratıp kütüphane hacmini tanımlamış. Yapının dışarısı kıvrımlı beşik tonozların yarattığı forma zıt olarak dikdörtgen pencerelerle geçilmiş.</p>

<p>Mito’nun yüzüncü yıldönümünü kutlamak amacıyla yapılan Mito Sanat Kulesi, içinde bir tiyatro, bir performans salonu ve çağdaş sanat galerisi barındıran bir kültür kompleksi aslında. Kültür kompleksinin 100 metre uzunluğundaki ikonik kulesi, değişik yönelimlere sahip 28 adet dörtyüzlü piramidin kompozisyonuyla oluşturulmuş. Japonya’daki en yaratıcı konstrüksiyonlardan biri olarak anılan kule, <em>Constantin Brancusi</em><i>’</i>nin (Roman heykeltraş) <em>Sonsuz Kolon</em><i>’</i>undan (1938) esinlenilerek tasarlanmış.</p>

<p>Domus: La Casa del Hombre (Domus: İnsanın Evi), interaktif bir insanlık müzesi. İnsanoğlunun keşfine adanmış olan yapı, İspanya’nın Orzan koyuna bakan ve<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>bir zamanlar taşocağı olan bir arazide bulunuyor. Ev, denize bakan cephelerinde kıvrımlı bir koruma duvarı ile tasarlanmış. Bir yelkeni veya bir deniz kabuğunu andıran bu duvar, kayrak taşıyla kaplanmış. Bu cephenin karşısındaki duvar da yerel granitle kaplanmış zik zaklı bir duvar. Dünyanın ilk interaktif müzelerinden biri olan yapı, kentsel ve mimari anlamda şehir ve araziye yaklaşımları yansıtmayı hedefliyor. Yapı, Isozaki’nin geleneksele saygı duyarak bunu hayal gücüyle süslediği, ulusal ve yerel mimari değişkenleri sentezleyen bir eseri.</p>

<p>Nara Centennial Hall (Nara 100. Yıl Salonu), 1992’de açılan bir uluslararası yarışmanın kazanan tasarımı. Isozaki’nin kazanan önerisi, alanın uzunluğu boyunca ilerleyen devasa büyüklükte bir elipsten türetilmiş. Heykeli bir etkiye sahip olan eliptik yapı, çatısına doğru sivriliyor ve burada güneş enerjisini toplayan cam tüplere geniş bir alan tanıyor. Yapının şekli daha soyut bir mimarinin ürünü gibi gözükse de Isozaki, tasarımında Nara’nın en önemli strüktürlerinden biri olan <em>Todaji Tapınağı</em>’ndan (M.S. 734) esinlenmiş. Gri çinko ve seramik kaplı yapının kıvrımlı karakteri ve masif duruşu, tapınağın anıtsal çatısından türetilmiş.</p>

<p>Bir kültür kompleksi olarak tasarlanan yapı için Arata Isozaki, ‘<i>organik bir ormanın</i> yumuşak kıvrımlarını sert, simetrik çizgilere sahip &#8216;<em>kristal küplerin içinde</em><i>’ </i>tasarlamış. Mustang’taki kırmızı oramnlardan esinlenen bu <em>organik orman</em> kısmında düzensiz şekiller ve delikli duvarlarla özgürlük hissi yaratıyor. Bu düzensiz, özgür kurgu hacmin iki yanında karmaşık desenlere sahip panellerle sona eriyor. Eski Çin alfabesinin karakterlerinden yaratılan bu paneller, aşağıdaki kültür hacminin sınırlarını oluşturuyor. Yapının kuleleri ise otel olarak kullanılıyor.</p>

<p>Orta Doğu’nun en büyük sergi merkezlerinden biri olan Katar Ulusal Kongre Merkezi, esnek toplantı hacimleri ve 3 büyük ana salonuyla yaklaşık 10.000 ziyaretçiye ev sahipliği yapabiliyor. Yapının en dikkat çekici kısmı dıştaki strüktürü. <em>Sidrat Al-Muntaha</em> isimli 7. cennetin bitimini sembolize eden kutsal bir İslamik ağaçtan esinlenilerek yaratılan strüktür, yapının ön cam cephesini ve kanopi kısmını taşıyor. İki zıt yöne ilerleyen dal strüktür aynı zamanda ağacın çölde, altında öğrenme ve konforun oluşabildiği bir mekan yaratmasıyla da esinlenilen bir öge olmuş. Özenli tasarım süreçleri, su koruma ve enerji verimliliği konusunda en son teknikler kullanılarak tasarlanan Kongre Merkezi, sürdürebilir bir yapı. Merkez, LEED-Gold sertifikasına sahip.</p>

<p>Lucern Festivali için Arata Isozaki’nin Anish Kapoor ile tasarladığı <em>Ark Nova</em> veya <em>New Ark</em>, ikili tarafından doğal afetlere yönelik olarak tasarlanmış. PVC kaplı polyester membranın şişirilerek oluşturulduğu göz küresi benzeri strüktür, bir konser salonu oluşturuyor. Söndürülerek kolaylıkla başka bir noktaya götürülüp şişirilebilen konser salonu, ilk olarak 2011 yılında Tohoku deprem ve tsunamisinden etkilenen bölgeleri turlaması için tasarlanmış. Şişebilen, taşınabilir performans mekanı geniş yelpazede gösteriye ev sahipliği yapabiliyor ve 500 ziyaretçi barındırabiliyor. Anish Kapoor ve Arata Isozaki’nin dikkat çeken tasarımı, afetten sonra yeniden yapım ruhunun simgesi haline gelmiş bir mimari.</p>

<p>Arata Isozaki’nin İtalyan mimar Andrea Maffei ile tasarladığı Allianz Kulesi, İtalya’nın en yüksek gökdeleni ve 2014’te de Milano için yeni bir kent simgesi olmuş. 50 katlı yapı, ince uzun kkarakteriyle dikeyliğini vurguluyor. Yapının dikkat çeken kısımlarından dalgalı cam cephesi. Bu cephenin bir elemanı 6 katı saran kıvrımlı cam katman. Cepheyi 6 katlık elemanlara bölme aynı zamanda güneş ışınlarının yansıması da azaltıyor. Kıvrımlı elemanların dikeylilikte birbirini takip eden karakteri yapıya hafif bir dinamiklik katıyor. Kule, içte esnek ofis kurgusuna izin veren strüktür kurgusuna ek olarak dışarıdan altınla kaplanmış 4 payandayla destekleniyor.</p>

<p>2014 yılında açılan salon, Asya&#8217;nın en eski orkestrasının 135. yılını kutladı. Arata Isozaki’nin skustik uzmanı Yasuhisa Toyota ile tasarladığı yapı, 1.200 ve 400 kişilik olmak üzere 2 ana salondan oluşuyor. Salonlarda amaç samimi bir duyusal denge yakalamak. Bunu başarmak için Toyota ve Isozaki akustik konusunda son teknolojileri ve performansları yüksek materyalleri kullanmış. Alttan geçen metronun titreşimlerinin salonun akustik dengesini bozmaması amacıyla tüm yapı, yaylar üzerine oturtulmuş. İçerideki salonlar da ise örme bambuyla kaplanmış yansıtıcı levhalar ve Hokkaido selvisinden yapılmış sahne döşemeleri kullanılmış. Yapının dışı geleneksel bir materyal olan terra cotta (pişrilmiş topraktan kızıl renkli bir malzeme) ile kaplı.</p>
