Eco-XX kolektifi, dünya genelindeki bir dizi kolektifin bir parçası. Kolektifin temel ilkesi sürdürülebilirlik sınırları içerisinde üretim yapmak ve bu üretim teknikleri neoliberal ekonomik sistemin üretim modellerinden oldukça farklı. Eco-XX, üretim fazlası ürünlerin kar amacıyla kullanılmadığı bir sistem öngörüyor ve buradaki asıl amaç yaşamak için üretmek. Kolektifin her bir üyesi; tarım, eğitim, kültürel, biyo-enerji, zanaat, yeniden kullanım ve geri dönüşüm gibi alanların birinde üretim yapmakla yükümlü. ‘Yaşamak için üretmek’ felsefesi kullanıcılarına bir toplumun parçası olarak sürdürülebilir yaşama katkı sağlama imkanı sunuyor.

The Eco-XX collective is part of a collection of a variety of collectives around the world. The focal point of the collective is to produce within the requirements of sustainability. The production patterns differ greatly from the existing neoliberal economic system as the surplus created by the Eco-XX community does not bear profitability as its objective but the main aim is to produce to live. Each member of this collective is responsible for being active in the production of some kind whether it may be agricultural, educational, cultural, bio-energy production, atelier level hand production, re-use, and re-cycle focused. The encouragement to the produce-to-live system comes from its own mentality as it provides a sustainable way of living while being part of a community.

Eco-XX, mülkiyet kavramını alışılagelmiş kabullerin dışına çıkaran bir proje. Kolektifte satın alma, kiralama hakkı gibi mülkiyet haklarının yerini ‘meslek hakkı’ alıyor. Gelecek bir zamanın senaryosunu yazan proje gelecekteki XX senesinin ekonomik koşullarına göre şekilleniyor. Bu yılda dünyanın ekolojik limitlerine gelindiği için neoliberal sistemin sürekli üretim ve tüketim üzerinden temellenen ekonomik modeli işlemiyor. Eco-XX, kendine yeten bir sistem üretirken içinde bulunduğu dünyaya ve ekosisteme katkı sağlıyor.

The Eco-XX members/residents are not tied to land in a normal manner. There is only the right of occupation rather than the right to buy or rent. The system of ownership has been revived in this system due to the changing requirements of the altering world of year XX. The neoliberal economy which had been developed on the idea of production and consumption of continuous surplus has to change as the ecological limits of the world is about to be reached. Eco-XX would provide a self-sustainable system that is regarding the well being of the earth and the ecosystem.

Yaşam Birimi Modülleri

Eco-XX kolektifin üyelerini ve çevreyi bir bütün olarak ele alıyor ve bu iki unsur arasında simbiyotik bir ilişki kuruyor. Böylece malzemelerin geridönüşümü, yeniden kullanılması ve yeniden adapte edilebilmeleri; yapı sistemleri, üretim şemaları ve kullanıcıların günlük hayattaki aktiviteleri oldukça önemli bir rol üstleniyor uyumlu bir şekilde  bir araya gelerek bütünü oluşturuyor.

The Eco-XX imagines the collective’s members and the environment as a whole by trying to develop methods beneficial for both parts like a symbiotic relationship. Hence the re-use, re-cycle, and re-adaptation of materials, construction systems, production patterns, daily life activities are all very critical and they should all act as cohesive elements.

Ekoloji/Ecology

Tasarlanan eko-şehir; doğa, insan ve kentsel dokuyu bir araya getirerek kendi ekolojisini oluşturuyor. Sistemdeki doğal faktörler kolektifin yaşam dinamiklerini etkileyen önemli elemanlar. Sistem doğanın kaynak olarak sunduğundan daha fazla atık üretmemeli.

The eco-city should form its own ecology which is the sum of nature, humans, surrounding cityscape. The natural factors should be active members of the collective as elements shaping the design of the lifestyle dynamics of the collective. There should be a minimum waste of what nature offers as a source.

Sürdürülebilirlik / Sustainability

Sürdürülebilirlik, yalnızca gelişmiş teknoloji kullanımıyla ortaya çıkan bir kavram değil. Her bir kaynağın verimli ve dengeli bir şekilde kullanılması gerekiyor. Sürdürülebilirlik yalnızca ekolojik sürdürülebilirliğe indirgenebilecek bir kavram da değil; kendisini yaşamın her alanında (ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel) ortaya çıkaran bir olgu. Bir propaganda aracına dönüştürülen mimarlık ve sürdürülebilirlik ilişkisi yeniden şekillendiriliyor.

The notion of being sustainable does not come merely with using advanced technologies. It comes with a firm approach to use each resource efficiently and in a balanced matter. Sustainability cannot be downgraded to ecological sustainability, it should be present in all segments of life: economic, social and cultural. The relation of architecture and sustainability had been altered into a method of propaganda by some authorities so it should be redefined. the activity of building cannot be hundred percent sustainable due to its nature since it involves the utilization of materials and energy.

Kent Mekanları / The Spatiality of the City

Şehir, insanların içerisinde varolmak adına ara mekanlar yarattığı karmaşık bir bütün. Şehirlerin sunduğu boşluklar insanların kendilerini tanımladıkları ve serbest bir şekilde hareket edebildikleri mekanlar. Şehirler insanlara belli bir yaşam tarzını dikte ettiği için insanların yaşamları ve tüketim alışkanlıkları da zamanla değişti. Projenin sunduğu yeni yaklaşım, şehrin neoliberal kentleşme için değil, kendi kullanıcılarının yaşamları için değişmesini öneriyor. Gerçekten açık mekanlar yaratılarak insanların tamamen serbest olabilmeleri hedefleniyor. Proje, metropollerden megapollere evrilen şehir ölçeğini geri döndürmeye çalışıyor.

The city is the place in which people strive to create interspaces to exist within the complicated whole. The empty gaps of the city in its concentrated texture are where people define themselves and act freely. The lifestyles and consumption patterns have also changed with the cityscape as the city dictated a certain lifestyle to its occupants. The new approach to the development of the city should be in the way of transforming it for and with its citizens not for the sake of neoliberal urbanization. Truly open spaces can only exist if people feel free to act. The scales of the cities had been changed from metropoles to megapoles, there may be a return to the old system.

Ortaklar / The Commons

Tüm üretim kömünitenin tamamının ortak malı ve kolektig sisteme katkıda bulunuyor. Üretilen ortak değerler yalnızca fiziksel materyaller değil. Kolektifin hafızası, kültürü ve bilgisi de bu ortaklardan ve tüm kolektifin kullanımına açık.

The commons produced should be the product of the whole community as the main objective is supporting the collectivity. The commons do not qualify simply as physical materials but they also involve a common memory, culture, and intellect. The commons of the collective are open use for the community since the produced value is its own production.
